Experience the first-ever Jamboree at the Summit

The first-ever National Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve just wrapped up. Whether you were there or not, the BSA has created a great opportunity to relive the experience of this unique national event!

The BSA has created a special Flickr page where they have posted almost 2000 photos of the Jamboree. See if you can pick out the members of Garden State Council!

BSA Membership Resolution

Today, at its national annual business meeting, the nearly 1,400 voting members of the Boy Scouts of America voted in favor of a resolution that eliminates any membership restriction for youth members related to sexual orientation. The Garden State Council welcomes and applauds this decision to deliver Scouting to all young people.

Summit Website Launched

As part of a four-year, $400 million process to make The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve a reality, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) announced the  launch of the Web site for the high-adventure base, summitbechtelreserve.org.
Two key functions of the site are the "Shape the Summit" survey and "Patrol Z" project, which will allow young people to provide input to help in the development of the property and engage in the larger discussion about the high-adventure base.

Scout/Unit Service Project Opportunity

It has been many years since any serious landscaping work has been done around our office in Millville. We need your help! Our Order of the Arrow lodge has done some great landscaping work to the front of the office and will continue to landscape other parts but there is too much for them to accomplish by themselves.
Specifically what we need are people willing to:
1.  Cut or pull dead/dying bushes
2.  Trim back the brush in the woods surrounding the office
