Planned Giving - Gifts and Bequests

There are many ways to make gifts to the Garden State Council to support local Scouting.  Giving includes lifetime gifts, bequests, beneficiary designations of life insurance and retirement accounts, deferred gifts, and gifts designated to help build the Scout's endowment fund.

Charitable giving options include:

  • Lifetime gifts of Cash, Property, or Stock
  • Life Insurance and Retirement Accounts - in order to ensure that your gift supports local Scouting, it is very important that the beneficiary of policies and accounts be "Garden State Council, Boy Scouts of America"
  • BSA Gift Annuity Program - this is a method of obtaining the tax benefits of making a charitable gift and retain some benefit in the gifted property for a period of time
  • Charitable Remainder or Lead Trusts - this is another method of obtaining the tax benefits of making a charitable gist and retain some benefit in the gifted property for a period of time
  • Bequests in your Will - in order to ensure that your bequest supports local Scouting, it is very important that the beneficiary named in your will be "Garden State Council, Boy Scouts of America"
