Follow the steps outlined in the Unit Renewal Guide and walkthrough video. If you prefer to pay in person, print your Unit Renewal report and bring it to the Council office with your payment.
*Important: As of 2024, unit renewal and individual membership renewal are completely separate processes. There is no reason to delay your unit renewal because of incomplete membership renewals.

Missing your renewal date has consequences. Here's what to know:
Lapsed — Membership has expired but can be reinstated within 2 months.
Separated — After the lapse period, reinstatement requirements become more involved.
Units can be reinstated up to 6 months after they lapse. After that, a New Unit Application is required, approved by the organization's Executive Officer.
Chartering organizations must renew their agreement with the Council and the BSA each year. This document must be signed by the Charter Organization Representative, the unit's Committee Chair, and the Council.
Adding new members before year's end? Get them registered quickly to ensure they're on your roster and covered by insurance.
