The Pine Barrens is a rare and remarkable ecosystem right in our backyard, home to plants and wildlife found nowhere else on Earth. Kuweike Trek Camp opens up this one-of-a-kind habitat to Scouts through a high adventure experience built around exploration, challenge, and discovery.
Hike, cycle, and canoe your way through the heart of the Pine Barrens while putting your Scout skills to the test and earning your 50 Miler Program Award along the way. Attend provisionally or with your Troop.
The Hike-Bike-Canoe Trek
The ultimate Pine Barrens adventure. Scouts hike, bike, and canoe through the heart of Wharton State Forest, covering 50+ miles through one of New Jersey's most iconic landscapes.
The journey includes biking in and out of base camp at Pine Tree EEC, connecting with sections of the Batona Trail (locally known as the "Back to Nature Trail"), and canoeing from Quaker Bridge to Batsto Lake. Overnight stops at Lower Forge and Buttonwood Hill, with points of interest including Apple Pie Hill, Batsto Village, and Atsion Lake along the way.

$350 per Scout / $100 per Adult Leader
Sign up as a Troop or Crew of 6-10 Scouts and two adult leaders attend free.
All personal camping gear including tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and backpacking stove with fuel. You'll be carrying it yourself, so pack smart!
Weather-appropriate clothing including rain jacket, pants, shorts, shirts, swimwear, and socks.
Closed-toed shoes are required.
