Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)

What Is BALOO?

BALOO training prepares adult leaders to lead Cub Scout camping experiences safely and confidently. The course combines an online prerequisite with outdoor training focused on the essentials of Cub Scout camping.

The training includes both online coursework and an overnight outdoor camping experience.

Every Cub Scout pack overnight campout requires at least one BALOO-trained adult.

This one-and-a-half-day course is ideal for leaders looking to bring more outdoor adventure and camping opportunities to their Pack program.

Cub Scout camping policies
Outdoor cooking
Camping safety
Program planning
Age-appropriate outdoor activities
