Scouting America Garden State Council Hosts Thrilling Pinewood Derby Championship

Deptford, NJ [March 18, 2025] – The Scouting America Garden State Council brought the excitement of racing to the Center Court of Deptford Mall as hundreds of Cub Scouts from South Jersey competed in the highly anticipated Pinewood Derby Championship.

“This event is more than a race—it’s a celebration of creativity, sportsmanship, and the Scout spirit,” said Patrick Linfors, Scout Executive/CEO of the Scouting America Garden State Council. “Seeing the excitement on the Scouts’ faces as their cars speed down the track is what makes the Pinewood Derby such a special tradition.”

Scouts proudly showcased their handcrafted race cars, each designed and fine-tuned for maximum speed, in a spirited competition to determine the fastest racers. Families, friends, and supporters gathered to cheer on participants as they put their engineering skills to the test on the track.
